The fashion and clothing industry has developed into a dazzling and horrific system of ‘Fast Fashion’ based on exploitation, waste and pollution. For example, the industry is responsible for ten percent CO2 emissions. This needs to change.

We are looking for people who offer solutions. For example by experimenting with new materials, combining fashion with technology and transforming waste into a garment.

Pioneers have the chance of a moment of fame on our digital catwalk. From 2 (after the episode) until 10 December at the latest, you can vote for the Future Fashion Pioneers. The five finalists will be chosen by visitors to the website and a professional jury. They will be announced during the Meet Up at Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. There they have a chance to be asked to participate in a Future Short of VPRO Tegenlicht in the winter of 2019.
